“Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving.” ― W.T. Purkiser
I end each day by writing down three things that I'm grateful for. It's true. I am that friend. At most of my dinner parties, my best friends and loved ones have been subject to the question, "what are you most thankful for, today?". After all, everyday is friendsgiving, right? And, no. Everyday, I am not happy, I don't feel full, and I might breakdown on the block, to Lauren or Landon over coffee or drinks. Swearing that New York doesn't love me, I'll never be able to afford my rent, I have both love and dreams of travel that are unrequited, and a savings account that could be considered a nest egg filled with shoes, booze, and something I just had to have from a sample sale.
What I realize, though, is that the glass is always half full, and the sky is always blue.
Living inside gratitude, is something I committed to after college, when I was slammed with reality and living in a city that can give you everything but also leave you feeling a little naked, too. Taking the time, each day, to count my blessings is just what a worrisome girl, chasing dreams, like me needs. So,
what are three things you are grateful for?
